After an sad summer, the first days of Septembre 2004 are great, wihtout any cloud! I decide to go to the Pointe de la Torche (a major France's surf spot) to photograph the Sun setting on the sea.
Unusually, no cloud at the horizon! So, it's under ideal conditions that I take pictures (with my Camedia behind my binoculars) the sun disk distort by the atmospheric layers.
Notice on the first three snapshots the presence of the sunspot group 649 which made its show on August 2004. Finally, notice its unusual shape on the third picture...
