Light pollution is a plague for astronomy! By illuminating the sky like in this picture, the stars disappear little by little!
This abusive use of light has those consequence:
- some precious energy is lost for nothing.
- some night animals are distrubed by light chasing obscurity.
- some insects are attracted by light projectors and roast.
- astronomers have to drive for kilometers to find dark skies.
So, what to do?
- prevent the light to be diffused toward the sky by a better design of the light projectors.
- switch off the light when nobody needs it
- reduce the light power |
