At first glance, this picture doesn't seem to be interesting. But a closer inspection reveal some dark streaks almost vertical above the contrail (extending as a fan up to the upper right corner). Those are the shadows cast on the higher clouds (the Sun has set since a few tens of minutes) by the thicker parts of the contrail. In the following picture, those crepuscular rays are better visible. |
