At the beginning of the exposure, the Moon isn't yet set. A few minutes later, it has disappeared, leaving Hale-Bopp all alone to make its show. In this picture, the exposure has been interrupted after 30 minutes, and then follow by a short exposure of one minute. Then, each trail is following by a dot. During the exposure, I appear in the field of the fisheye and light up myself. So, I'm the translucent ghost in the picture.
The green dome on the right is that of the satellite laser-telemeter. The beam of the laser is visible, shooting toward the left, quiet parallel to the horizon and crossing the ghost's head. |
