One more rare celestial sight! I've never seen moon dogs, those glowing patches on the right and left at the Moon's elevation. Moon dogs are the same phenomenon as the sun dogs for the Sun.
And saturday night, I finally saw them! They weren't very bright, but I was able to capture them with my digital camera.
In this picture, one can see also a short moon pillar above the Moon. |
