Late August is the begining of a slow embrace between two wonders of the sky: the panets Venus, the Goodess of Love, and Jupiter, the God of the Gods. Each of them try to be the brightest, but Venus win this competition, due to its well reflective atmosphere and its distance to the Sun and to the Earth.
However, in this picture, they seem to have the same brightness, because Venus, lower than Jupiter, is dimmed by some clouds near the horizon. In the foreground, a yacht abandoned on the sand by the low tide, lies down to guide the two lovers to the horizon with its mast. |
